The current version of AEGIS is 2.1.8, released on April 8, 2002. It is available for all supported platforms. Enhancements in this release include:

• compiler enhancements, including more robust expression validation
• CGI run-time enhancements, including better large-argument handling
• completely re-written SQL interface module, including:
  • multi-host connection handling
  • true SQL Join support for miniSQL
  • default disconnect handler invoked on exit
  • capability to specify SQL driver at run-time
  • can use multiple SQL drivers simultaneously
• new aegis.conf file, including default error handling options
• CGI mode error log file option
• interface to ChargeGateway credit card processing system
• new standard libary functions: CONVERT(URL), SQRT

The previous version of AEGIS, version 2.1.5h, was released on September 21, 2001. It is still available for some platforms for support purposes only. Enhancements in release 2.1.5 included:

• loadable string libraries
• corrections to date handling
• enhanced global variable features

All earlier verions have been withdrawn. All users should upgrade to version 2.1.8 at no charge.
